Job Purpose

Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of construction or engineering projects. Their primary responsibility is to assist the Supervisor in overseeing various aspects of project implementation. Key duties include: Scheduling and Planning, Cost Estimating and Budgeting, Reporting and Documentation, Material Management, Procurement Support, Site QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control), Contract Support, etc. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely submittal logs by aligning them with project drawings and specifications.
  • Receive approved submittals from architects or engineers and notify the Project Supervisor of any potential schedule impacts.
  • Prepare required documentation and backup materials to assist the Supervisor with change requests.
  • Oversee construction activities by maintaining a regular presence on-site and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Work with government inspectors to meet licensing and safety standards, ensuring site compliance.
  • Ensure subcontractors are punctual and deliver quality work as per project requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of all required project close-out documents as per contract terms.
  • Share relevant drawings, specifications, and documents with subcontractors, including final requirement documentation.
  • Schedule meetings with key stakeholders, take accurate minutes, and distribute them promptly to all relevant parties.
  • Proactively monitor quality, schedule, budget, and safety objectives using tools like schedule and document management systems.
  • Hold team meetings to address blockages, consult with relevant authorities, and ensure the smooth continuation of work while maintaining safety and preparing inventory for project handover.


SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.


Additional Job Requirements

  • Understand the processes, methods, and tools used in construction work to manage tasks effectively.
  • Efficiently manage contractors, resources, and materials to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Demonstrate strong site problem-solving capabilities and efficient organizational skills to handle complex projects.
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills, along with the ability to manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD for 2D modeling and adept at using Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel. Competent in internet browsing and research to support project-related tasks and requirements.

Educational Requirements

Diploma in Engineering (Preferably in Civil Engineering)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 10 year of working experience
