Job Purpose

The role of Assistant General Manager ensures the effectiveness of the risk management process and overseeing its functions in different development programmes and functions of BRAC and timely follow up of the risk mitigation plan of identified risk with various programmes, functions and donors. The AGM also facilitates enterprise-wide risk assessments to identify opportunities for different programmes for business process and control improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain risk register related to development, functions, donors, SPA, partners and BRAC enterprise level  
• Develop new funding project risk analysis for both operational and strategically 
• Develop effective risk mitigation plan follow up mechanism 
• Collects, evaluates and maintains data concerning risks and mitigation strategies.
• Analyse data and apply to various key risk areas to update the risk register
• Support in developing contingency plans to deal with risk and organizational emergencies.
• Collaborate with the Internal Audit department to capture existing risks highlighted through the Internal Audit Report.
• Develop and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) that are mapped to various risks to determine elevations in risk and proactively implement risk mitigation measures.
• Lead the team to ensure smooth operation of risk reporting and follow-up on mitigation plans. Identify potential risks that may arise from new regulatory or legislative requirements, as well as those associated with new operations, products, services, policies, geographies, safeguarding, and climate change.
• Develop and mentor the team to create new managers, with a focus on empowering women in the area of risk management.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
